The Dutch water bottle brand Dopper is launching a new insulated special edition bottle – designed in collaboration with Worthy de Jong, the charismatic basketball star who sensationally led the Netherlands to gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The project is supported by renowned illustrator Hedof, who interprets the athlete’s story in his distinctive, vibrant style.
From Street Basketball to Gold Medal
Worthy de Jong is considered a symbol of perseverance and team spirit in his home country. Growing up in the Amsterdam district of Bijlmer, he fought his way to the top with passion and talent, securing the Netherlands‘ first-ever Olympic basketball victory with a spectacular buzzer-beater. Today, the 36-year-old uses his fame to inspire young people and advocate for freely accessible basketball courts.
„This bottle doesn’t just represent my story,“ says Worthy de Jong. „It represents everyone who competes every day for their team, their community, and a better future.“

Design with attitude
The Special Edition Bottle features a vibrant design by renowned illustrator Hedof. Twenty-four playful illustrations tell De Jong’s story, one of which was even created by the athlete himself.
Sustainable, robust, and practical for everyday use
Like every Dopper bottle, this special edition is more than just a stylish accessory: It keeps drinks hot for up to 9 hours or cold for 24 hours, is made from 90% recycled steel, and embodies Dopper’s mission to combat single-use plastics. For maximum convenience, the bottle can be paired with the new Dopper Flip Straw – perfect for a quick refreshment on the go.
„At Dopper, we believe that change begins with showing up every day and taking responsibility,“ says Virginia Yanquilevich, CEO of Dopper. „Worthy perfectly embodies this spirit, and together with Hedof, we’re making this attitude visible.“
