1. How did you get into modeling?
I’ve always been a creative individual from the time that I was little, but I never knew how to outwardly express it or utilize it to create art that I had envisioned. So I decided to take on modeling as an outlet to paint those pictures, and I fell in love with it immediately! I realized that I wanted to pursue this and allow it to take me to whatever distance that my talents and abilities allow me to! That is when I started collaborating with photographers such as Michael Alan (IG: @michaelalanphotography), among others around California. Now I am represented by Taylor Kelsaw Management who envisions and supports the dreams in which I am in pursuit of accomplishing!
2. What are you doing if you are not modeling?
If I’m not modeling, I’m training to enhance my acting skills and looking for opportunities to continue to grow my abilities, versatility, and my brand. In my down time, I stay being of service to my community and giving back what was so freely given to me: chance, opportunity, and support! Also, any time that I get to laugh with friends or spend quality time with my Dad, I take full advantage of.
3. The most spontaneous/difficult/strange thing you’ve ever done?
Great question that I have very few answers too! One of them would have to be jumping on stage for a random karaoke song after my friends put my name down on the list.. talk about absolute fear for your first time doing such a thing! They even booed me off of the stage! (laughter)
4. What’s your life motto?
There are a few that I keep in the back pocket at all times:
1. “I shall be prepared and perhaps my chance shall come” -John Wooden
2. Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist” -Pablo Picasso
3. “Half are happy, and half don’t care; just do your job.” -Dad
5. Describe your personal style – Favorite Brands/Fragrance?!
My style is very versatile! Any day of the week I could be wearing a plain white shirt with black jeans and Vans, other days I’ll rock a leather jacket with straight-cut/ slim-fit pants and Clarks on the feet. When I want to dress comfortable I’ll wear a tank-top to match with my Vuori sweats or Nike basketball shorts, and then sometimes I’ll bust out the slacks and a dress shirt to flow with my Alfani’s! The fragrance that I currently use is Yves Saint Laurent, and it is a game changer!
6. What genre of music best describes you?
I allow the present moment and the vibe of what I want to express choose what genre of music best describes me at that moment; that’s what inspires me! Music is a massive inspiration and influence behind the art that I create, and there is no telling of the music that best describes me. Sometimes I go back to my roots and upbringing of the Blues, Motown, Mariachi, and Sinatra. Other times it’s Rap, Hip-Hop, and Pop. Shoot it could even be Hard Rock, Metal, or Classic Rock! I just ride the wave of all different types of music to embody the moment of Today.
7. Where are your roots – The best thing about/to do in your hometown?
This is an interesting question regarding my roots, but I’ll keep it as short as possible. I come from a childhood of addiction, low income, and lots of internal insecurity. I experienced homelessness for the first time around 7 years old, lost a relationship with one of my parents (the alcoholic) at 12 years old due to being hit with a car in an attempt to prevent them from drinking and driving, and for all tense and purposes I’ve been on my own from around the age of 14. I have two beautiful little sisters who rode those waves with me, and one older brother who was out of the picture a majority of those years. Unfortunately, yet fortunately, at 17 years old I found myself also an alcoholic. I walked away from my dreams of playing college basketball because of the surrealism that I made it out from where I came from, and went back to what was comfortable. I’m extremely happy to say that I have been in recovery for quite sometime now (Thank you God), and it’s safe to say that although I love Sacramento to my core, it was much needed that I move away so that I can continue to flourish in life and pursue my dreams that I’m living in today. There is obviously so much more to my story; A dream of mine on a soul level is to speak up and lead by example on a grander scale, so that way I can be of service to those who come from a very difficult background and unrelenting obstacles. Ultimately, it is to show others that those moments and memories don’t define you; they enhance you.
8. Name one celebrity you’d like to get naughty with!
Just One?! C’mon now! (Laughs) I would have to say Vanessa Hudgens and Gal Gadot are two safe bets here!
9. Do you have any special Talents?
Aside from modeling I am also an actor. I participated in school festivals throughout high school and I have carried that into this career. To my core I am a People Person, so anything that I can do to get someone to smile or laugh I am all about! I’ve also played guitar since I was 12 years old and I am proficient at it. Basketball, boxing, golf, and baseball are all sports that I still participate in to this day. And people say that I’m a funny guy, so maybe comedy is in the future at some point, who knows!
10. What is the most interesting thing online at the moment?
Nothing. Without sounding arrogant and fully intending to be honest and confident, the most interesting things that I find online are the creative, smart, and intriguing opportunities for the further development of my career and the avenues in which I can continue to grow my name, my brand, and my abilities. I fully intend to be an influential figure in this industry, and I am going to do it while having the time of my life. There’s no sense in pursuing this if I don’t love it or if I’m not having any fun with it; both of which I am!
