Dial Drive – „Left Out“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

A Case of PBR and a bottle of your favorite Tequila

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

Well, it’s been a busy year for the DD boys. We’ve released 5 singles and 3 music videos in anticipation for our new self-titled album that comes out on October 10th. We have a few killer shows lined up to end the year, including our Album Release Show in Sanford, FL on October 17th, and our 6th appearance at the best weekend of the year, FEST in Gainesville on October 24th. We plan to hit the road in the New Year to support our new album and see our friends and fans all over the United States.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

1 – Nate smells bad

2 – Billy is the greatest drummer in the world

3 – I sometimes lick Kevin’s dreadlocks while he’s sleeping

4 – Nate one time choke slammed some dude at one of our shows in Omaha

5 – Hearing fans sing our songs live has become a literal addiction for me

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Let’s get weird and say a mix of your favorite skateboard brand, marlboros, Jameson Irish Whiskey, your local weed dispensary, and a touch of 2011 era Hot Topic

5. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Oh flat earth hands down. It’s the most ridiculous and stupid conspiracy theory out there, but it would be so funny if it turned out it was true. Plus it’d be rad to kick Trump off the edge and see what happens.

6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Wayyyyy too much to put into this answer. Shit, I don’t know where to start. I guess taking pay-to-play aspects out of it. Any big label can turn any band into a successful „product“ with enough money. It leaves the little guys who do this out of love struggling. But, hey, that’s what the underground is for baby!

7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

To me, this is the best work the band has done. The new album is a pretty dynamic ride. There’s fast and in your face punk shit, and then there’s more melodic and emotional shit. It might be because this album is new, but it’s definitely the thing I’m most proud of. We recorded with my cousin, Happy, and this was the first album he recorded and produced from start to finish. I’m super proud of that kid and think we really made something special. We also got to work with our former drummer, AJ, who lended his skills into some of the production and really nailed things together. I’d say it’s the deepest album lyrically, and it definitely pushed my limits instrumentally (I’m not very good).

8.  A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

„Why do you do this?“ – Well, it’s not even an option anymore. Writing songs is extremely cathartic, and so is playing them live. Being a DIY band has the highest highs and the beyond lowest lows. You’re constantly being kicked when you’re down, but once we get on stage, it’s all worth it.
