At the same time, it serves as a teacher for us in many areas: When developing the modular shoe system OMNI-MAX and the Konos TRS, Columbia used nature as a source of inspiration – and found the model for its new adaptive shoe technology in the adaptability of the pine cone. OMNI-MAX adapts to the different challenges in the terrain, similar to how pine cones adapt to the changing conditions of the forest. As a tribute to nature’s source of inspiration, the typical cone pattern can be seen in the sole design of the new Konos TRS fast hiking shoe. This is the first shoe franchise to use the new technology.
Adaptable and made for every condition: The new OMNI-MAX technology is based on a particularly effective triad of adaptive damping, improved stability and increased traction. The responsive foam in the midsole provides optimal impact cushioning, energy return and long-lasting comfort. Strategically placed deflection domes on the heel and midfoot reduce impact and absorb shock while increasing stability on varying terrain. The flex grooves in the area under the metatarsal bones promote improved, natural rolling behavior. The proven AdaptTrax sole construction offers the right grip on any surface and in any weather – thanks to special rubber compounds and a non-slip profile.

The new Konos TRS OutDry is made for fast hiking or long-distance hikes like the Megamarsch. The lightweight and modern hiking shoe combines the latest Columbia technologies: The OMNI-MAX construction with TechLite+ midsole wraps the heel and offers optimal balance, while the deflection domes in the forefoot and heel area absorb the impact and reduce the strain on the foot. At the same time, the flex grooves support rapid forward movement. No matter whether on rough terrain, slippery roots or even snow fields, the AdaptTrax outsole is particularly non-slip and always ensures a firm step.
The NavicFit system gives the midfoot additional natural support. Thanks to the special sole construction, the technical mesh material and the seamless reinforcements, Columbia saves weight and at the same time creates maximum comfort. To ensure that your feet stay dry even in rain and puddles, Columbia has installed the tried-and-tested, waterproof and breathable OutDry membrane in the Konos TRS OutDry. The Konos is available with or without a membrane and in different colors.
