1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?
Ah, a tricky question straight away…! Well, as I’m still 17, it would officially have to be non-alcoholic – I’m a big fan of a spiced up tomato juice. But next year it might be a Mojito….
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
The plan for world domination continues We are still pushing „Kick Me In The Heart“ after the first single „Number One“ created a bit of buzz in June. There will be another track, „Quicksilver“ released in October with the 3rd video! There is so much Chayne material to use, that we’re going to release a track every 6 weeks or so which will make up the bulk of an album early next year. Live dates will have to wait – I’m studying for my French Bacc, and school takes up a lot of time. One day, though, one day…!!
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
Now we’re talking!! I’m OBSESSED with UFOs and am fully convinced they are a real phenomenon. WHAT they are exactly, now that’s a different matter – but I think it may be way weirder than we can even imagine. I definitely recommend checking out Bob Lazar on Youtube – he claims to have worked on retrieved UFOs at Area 51 in the 80s and he seems totally authentic to me!
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Complete mongrel! I just absorb anything that I like and try to imitate it. It always ends up sounding like something different though. Like B*tthole Surfers just wanted to sound like Black Sabbath, but ended up sounding like…B*tthole Surfers!!! The main thing is that I really find modern pop so slick and produced and soul-less – that’s exactly what I don’t want. Maybe I’m grunge-y??!
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
Erm, well „Number One“ was just looking at the emptiness of social media and influencers. „Kick Me In The Heart“ was about physical and emotional abuse. „Quicksilver“ is about being slightly schizoid, ha ha! Other songs are about impending environmental disaster, awful music biz people and the death of my cat etc..so I can’t really say there’s a common thread!
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I am an extremely good gymnast and can balance long poles on my nose.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I’m 17, so give me a break!!
I probably don’t tick any boxes that a modern pop artist is „supposed“ to.
My music tastes are really varied and I think very atypical of my age group. From The Cramps to Grandaddy to Motorhead to Taylor Swift and The Carpenters and the aforementioned B*ttholes…I love it all!
I have no musical training whatsoever (I can, however, strum a ukulele…!).
Can’t stand Drake – or anything like him, whatever that style is!!
8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
My dad was a musician in the 90s and my mum and he were really into music. They inflicted a lot of unusual music on me, so I guess it came from there. I come up with musical ideas and lyrics in my head and usually get someone else to develop them. Singing? I’m a dedicated (and extremely loud) shower singer!
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
There’s a guy I see on the bus every morning – I’d like him to ask me: „Hey, you wanna go out sometime?“ The answer would be: „YES“!!! (or, more likely, „OUI!“)
