Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
I imagine 3 perfect drinks. As we are millennials loving coffee, first drink would be iced coffee as we also love summer. Second would be Melonball as it’s signature Punk Rock Holiday drink – our favourite festival and a heaven on earth in Slovenia. Third would be matcha latte with mango as it just sounds interesting and modern, just as we do haha!
All of the drinks go with cocktail colorful umbrella obviously.
Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
So much going on! Our brand new record Stupid Punk will be out in October 2025 via Austrian label SBAM and American Double Helix Records. We are super excited about it as during the whole year we released multiple singles such as 1993, Nobody wants to party feat Sammy (WSTR), Hate my life, there will be total of 5 before the full album! We planned a music video to each single to express the vibe of each song 100%. We play shows like crazy and we hope to see you dear reader on the road somewhere.
We are a super hard working band, who fails and falls down, but comes back as we love music and connecting through it with people. New record is packed with sing along songs to play loud in your car with windows down. Nostalgic, modern and powerful.
Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!
We all love criminal podcasts, coffee, Asian food and traveling the world.
CF98 stands for californian punk music nostalgia and it’s a chemical element californ with 98 electrons.
What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
We would say this is a 90s / 2000s skatepunk or poppunk fashion, jerseys, tshirts, skirts, high socks, sneakers and trucker hats.
My favourite description is sporty chic or athleisure style.
We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
I don’t know if that’s still a conspiracy theory but I really hope that aliens are among us, they have good intentions and they can introduce us to their worlds in the future where we all can be saved from a bunch of wealthy idiots here. I really hope there is a similar world to ours somewhere and I wonder if they fight over power, land and money as we do (as humans in general).
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Big wealthy companies trying to become ever richer. With promoting our new music, we realize nothing is for free, the more money you spend, the better results you get. I’m talking about Spotify, meta ads. On the other hand, we are living in the best times for musicians, you can literally promote your music on your own, using a phone and platforms like IG or tiktok. It requires time and consistency but it shouldn’t be an issue if music is what you are here for.
A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
“What do you regret the most in terms of music life?”
I would say that I regret wasting my time believing that someone will come and do the hard work for you as promised. When I was younger, I used to believe those people, acting like there is a shortcut available to achieve something in music. They promised so much. But there is none. Maybe there are super lucky bands, who were in the right place in the right time and succeeded within a short period of time. All the examples I know are super hard working people, consistent online, touring their asses off, building their audience step by step, driving thousands of km in van. There are amazing people around us, super supportive, kind and excited as we are, but the world doesn’t consist only of those people. “Every person you admire, survived a season you never saw”. I love that sentence.
Thank you for having us and talking to me! Cheers, Karolina, CF98
