Bathroom art: Lush x Jamie Reid soaps

With his artwork for the Sex Pistols single “God Save The Queen” he designed one of the most famous album covers in music history in the 70s. Now, Lush has taken inspiration from the work of British artist Jamie Reid and created the colorful and vibrant Lush x Jamie Reid Soap Collection – bathroom art that delights the eye and invigorates the senses.

Mo Constantine (Lush co-founder and product inventor) and her son Jack were inspired by Jamie Reid’s artwork depicting the four solar festivals of the Druidic cycle of the year for this special soap collection. To do this, they created a soap for each of these four festivals.

Lush’s creators work like artists – they are inspired by the world around them. The resulting products are their way of telling a story. The sun festivals of the Druidic cycle represent our connection to the planet and fit with Lush’s brand mission to leave the world more beautiful than we found it and our ambition to create a cosmetics revolution to save our planet.

Each piece of soap art reflects the iconoclastic spirit of Jamie Reid. The soaps are gradually coming onto the market in line with the sun festivals. The launch in Germany is Alban Hefin, the summer solstice soap, which will be available from June 20, 2024. The remaining soaps will then be gradually launched in our shops at the respective times of the year.

Alban Hefin Summer Solstice Soap

An anarchic artifact, a work of art, and a druidic talisman all in one. A bath with this soap on the summer solstice – or any other day – connects you with the power of the sun, the ancient wisdom of the Druids, and the punk rock rebellion against the fading of light. Luxuriate in a foam of wild strawberries, blackberry leaves, bergamot and mallow: let this soap guide you through the cycles of nature and the art of rebellion.

Alban Elfed Autumn Equinox Soap

Although day and night are the same length at the autumn equinox, the sun’s power decreases. As we enter the darkening days, this soap celebrates the fruits of the harvest to nourish skin and soul. Made with sweet apple juice, holy oak wood, finely blended portobello mushrooms and boiled hazelnuts, you wash yourself with the essence of Alban Elfed and carry its harmony and gratitude into the end of the year.

Alban Arthan Winter Solstice Soap

More than a seasonal cleanser, this soap is an act of rebellion against the darkness and a work of art that weaves together the revolutionary spirit of Jamie Reid’s artistry and the deep spiritual resonance of the winter solstice. Soothing olive oil nourishes the skin, while the sweet scent of chamomile, barley and fresh watercress unfolds from the embers of a pine needle. This unique product goes beyond the ordinary and provides both a physical cleansing and a spiritual awakening.

Alban Eilir Spring Equinox Soap

Unleash the primal energy of spring with this soap that reflects the Druidic worship of nature’s rebirth at the spring equinox. This soap isn’t just soap, it’s a ritual rebirth, a punk rock magic that works right in the shower, celebrating the balance of light and dark with every lather. Relax and allow the lather of coltsfoot, oatmeal and lemon to wash you with the essence of wisdom and enlightenment, cleansing the mind and balancing the skin.
