Bastian da Cruz – „10 out of 37“ + Exclusive Interview

1. What drink would you recommend while listening to your new music?

I’d go with a smooth whiskey on the rocks. Something simple, warm and honest — just like the stories I’m telling on these new songs. If you’re not into alcohol, a strong black coffee works just as well. My music hits best with a little fire in the chest.

2. Updates – new single, new album, tours, videos?

I don’t have any tour dates lined up yet, but next year I’m pushing harder than ever to get back outside of Denmark, maybe find a label, and connect with strong booking partners.

I’m also recording a live session of three songs with my band this coming spring, and I honestly can’t wait for people to hear how the songs sound in a full band setting. New videos are on the way too, and there will be more releases throughout the year.

3. A harmless conspiracy theory you wish were true?

I wish the conspiracy theory that some people can hear the “perfect song” in their dreams were true. Imagine waking up with a fully finished hit that just drops into your head overnight. I’d sleep 14 hours a day and call it “creative work”

4. What fashion style or brand best describes your music?

My music probably sits somewhere between Scandinavian minimalism and an open shirt with way too much chest showing. Think clean lines, a bit of attitude, and just enough chaos to keep it interesting.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My songs are my way of laying my heart on the table.

I write about the things that hit hardest — the people who shape me, the feelings I can’t ignore, and the moments that stay with me longer than I expect. Some songs are confessions I could never say out loud, others are quieter thoughts I’ve carried for years.

The message is simple: I write to be honest — with myself and with anyone who listens.

6. Beside music, any special talents?

I’ve spent years performing alone with just a guitar, so I’ve gotten good at reading a room — turning silence into attention. I used to play both drums and piano, so rhythm is wired into me no matter what I do. And outside of music, I’m a bit of a golf maniac — I’m a 5.8 handicap golfer, and I take it just as seriously as songwriting.

7. Five things we should know about you as an artist:

  1. I’ve lived off music since I was 19.

  2. I pour everything into my songwriting — it’s where I’m the most honest version of myself.
  3. I’m a multi-instrumentalist who started on drums and piano before finding my voice with the guitar.
  4. I’m a perfectionist on stage — every detail matters to me.

  5. I’m constantly chasing the perfect live performance.

8. The road so far — who or what has been your biggest support?

My biggest support has been the people who kept showing up — whether it was 10,000 or 50 people on a ferry crossing to Oslo. They reminded me that music is a shared thing, not just mine. And of course, close family and friends who believed I could do this long before I did.

9. A question you wish someone would ask — and your answer:

“What keeps you going when nobody’s watching?”

The simple fact that I’m still in love with this. Writing a line at 3 a.m. that suddenly makes sense of a whole year — that’s the reason I keep chasing it.

Thank you so much I hope you like it🤘🏻
