Anthony Hughes – ‚thought of you‘ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

OOO that would have to be a spicy Margs to get you in the mood for a dance!

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

So my latest single ‚thought of you‘ was out April 19th. Its been featured on BBC radio this week which im gassed about! Ive just recorded a music video for my upcoming single ‚take you there‘ which is out June 7 and I have a very exciting press launch night to celebrate this in May so its literally go go go at the moment!

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

That Area 51 was real and we have friends from another planet. Humans can get intense! haha

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

That’s a tough one as I love lots of different brands. Id have to say an upcoming brand who are hustling, current and stands out 🙂

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My message the last year has all been about loving the skin you’re in, accepting yourself, having confidence and not letting anyone tell you no. The reason for this is this industry is hard and my insecurities can often get the better of me but through music I can almost be my alter ego

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Funnily enough I can professionally rollerskate and was actually in a show in Germany called Starlight express a few years back!

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

1.As well as loving to perform and dance, I love nothing more than to sit and deliver an acoustic song purely from the soul

2. I write all of my lyrics (well have done so far haha)
3. I am a massive foodie so maybe one day I’ll write a song about food!
4. I used to dance professionally

5.I want to break barriers and know that I am excepted into the world coming from the queer scene.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

My mum used to play Whitney, earth wind and fire, Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross in the car and I used to copy, that’s how I developed my poppy soulful sound I think. Writing im still learning, sometimes I’m inspired sometimes I’m not.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

What makes you feel safe? Being near the water.
