Alpina unveils its first ever solar-powered collection: the Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre

Energy from Light – Almost Unlimited

With the Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre, Alpina opens a new chapter in its Swiss watchmaking tradition, which dates back to 1883. The manufacture, which has always stood for functional sports watches and a pioneering spirit, is launching its first solar-powered watch. Powered by a Swiss-made caliber from La Joux-Perret, the new model combines technological innovation, contemporary design, and exceptional reliability.

Both natural and artificial light continuously supply the Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre with energy. A full charge provides a power reserve of up to 10 months without light exposure, and even up to four years with the crown pulled out. Just one minute of light exposure is enough to generate enough energy for an entire day. When the watch is exposed to light again after a prolonged period of darkness, it starts running again within seconds – a promise of freedom and independence.

Technology in the background, design in focus

The innovative solar technology remains completely invisible. Beneath the seemingly opaque dial are newly developed photovoltaic solar cells that operate with exceptional efficiency and require very little energy. This allowed Alpina to preserve the characteristic aesthetics of the Alpiner Extreme: the triangular structure as a tribute to the historic brand emblem, applied indices, generous luminous material, and a central triangular seconds hand. A subtle blue accent indicates the integrated solar technology.

Sporty, unisex, versatile

The robust 37.5 mm stainless steel case is intentionally designed to be unisex and is water-resistant to 100 meters. This makes the Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre equally suitable for outdoor adventures and everyday urban life. The collection includes five dial colors: Bordeaux red and mint green are paired with a stainless steel bracelet, while light blue, navy blue, and matte white are available with textured rubber straps.

With the Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre, Alpina combines sustainable energy, sporty elegance, and functional watchmaking expertise – a modern tool watch that unites performance, innovation, and style while remaining true to its affordability.
