1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Hey what’s up everybody, my name is Theo Tams, I’m a singer songwriter from Toronto. My favourite things are good food, beards, my man, and my Great Dane Roosevelt.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
I’ve been releasing new music every 6-8 weeks since November with the latest being my single Fixable. I really wanted to dive head first into some different sonics for this project so there are a lot of different influences from old school RnB to modern New Wave sounds. My next single drops on April 9th!
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I’m really unapologetic and I love to prove people wrong. I challenge the norms of what is expected from me, I’ll go from a huge tender ballad to a stanky RnB jam on the same project. I write everything from personal experience, I find the songs that I really relate to are the ones that make me feel like someone has been there before, that I’m not the only one to feel a particular way. I write songs about all your shitty exes lol.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
There is a really classic element to my music but with some surprise elements in vocal production. I’m really influenced by asian street style, but with a classic euro fashion twist.
5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?
Hahaha if you asked me this question a few months ago my answer would have been drinking- I used to drink like it was an olympic sport. I’m really proud to say that I am nearly 3 months alcohol free, it’s been the hardest but most rewarding thing I’ve accomplished.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I’m a beast in the kitchen- if I’m not in the studio or on stage, I’m in the kitchen cooking up a storm. Nothing brings me greater peace than entertaining and cooking for friends.
7. Being on stage feels like….!
Being on stage feels like the only place I can be authentically me and not give a fuck about what people think of me. It is truly the only place where there are no consequences or repercussions for telling your authentic truth.
8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?
I am a jeans and tshirt kind of guy. But for me, every outfit needs a good jacket. I probably have close to 3 dozen jackets- I don’t care if it’s summer, a hot jacket completes any outfit. Favorite fashion brand right now is KAPITAL out of Japan and Comme Des Garcons.

What is one thing that you think could make the music industry better?
We need to find a way to pay artists better, the amount that an artist gets paid from streaming is shocking. I love the fact that it has opened doors for how far your music can reach a potential audience, but the payoff needs to be raised. Art is so valuable and I think it’s time we start treating it as such, instead of being so disposable.
