1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
My name is Riley Michaels, and I am a 20-year-old Pop Artist from Niagara Falls, Canada!
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
Throughout 2020, and now into 2021, I have been releasing new singles every couple of months!
I released 2 music videos, and I am looking forward to releasing more music and more videos this year!
I am also hoping that eventually I will be able to return to venues all across Canada to perform after COVID-19 restrictions
have been lifted!
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
– My favorite artists are: John Mayer, Prince, Elvis Presley
– I got my start in music after playing Guitar Hero. From there, I entered my first singing competition, and shortly after, picked up the guitar!
– My earliest music influences were Twisted Sister, Aerosmith, and Green Day!
– I can play most instruments, and I do lots of home recording in which I play those instruments.
– I am currently endorsed and partnered with Fredrick Guitars, a Canadian guitar maker. They built me a beautiful custom guitar with a lovely purple finish, nodding to one of my biggest influences, Prince.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
When it comes to fashion, I am extremely intrigued by classy clothing.
I have always had an interest in a nice suit and tie. When I dress casually,
I usually dress with a nice pair of jeans and a button-up dress shirt. I own a LOT of
dress shirts – too many to count! In the winter months, I enjoy wearing a long pea-coat
over top of my clothing! I like to keep it classy and elegant!
My favorite style of shoes is the Converse Chuck Taylors! I own quite the collection
of them, and I am still growing my collection!
5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?
I have a terrible habit of biting my nails.. I think I have tried every method to quit doing it, but I
cannot seem to do so! When people ask, I just tell them that I play guitar so much that my nails break!
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Outside of music, I am a Martial Artist, and I have studied the Art of Karate for over 16 years. I currently
hold a Shodan Black Belt with the Zen Bei Butoku Kai International. I am also a Scuba diver, and I love being
under the water with the fish!
7. Being on stage feels like….!
Euphoric. The best feeling ever. There’s no better feeling than seeing people connecting to the music I make.
Since COVID has taken away shows, I haven’t been able to feel those feelings in a long time!
8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?
Must-have are lots of button-up shirts and a nice pair of blue jeans! I don’t dress in expensive brands,
but I do enjoy going to the shopping mall and getting American Eagle and Guess clothing. Also Hollister! These brands fit me well, so
I buy them! I’m open to suggestions, though! No-Go clothing items are definitely muscle shirts.. They definitely don’t work for me!
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Nobody has ever asked me how I make my hair stand up so tall!
First, I wash and condition my hair every morning with Redken Brews men’s shampoo and conditioner,
then I apply a layer of Redken Brews gel to my hair. I blow dry it into shape, and then use a Redken Brews Medium Hold
Pomade to strengthen the hold and shape it even further! After putting it up fully, I freeze it with a Pantene hairspray! It doesn’t move at all!
