Pherris – „Hit It“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

My name is Pherris, I’m a singer/songwriter, and guitarist from Brooklyn, NY

2. Please give us an update about – new single?

My new single “Hit It” dropped last month, which I co-produced. It will be part of my EP set to release in early 2022, which I’m very excited to release and share with the world!

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

  • I write, help produce, and perform all of my music

  • I play the guitar

  • I designed the art for my last single

  • I love to fuse dance music with soul and RnB

  • I started music later in life so my goal is to inspire people to never stop pursuing what interests them

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I would say some form of streetwear, not tied to any specific brand though. Something that’s versatile though that you can dress up or down depending on the plans you have in a day/night. Also something you can accessorize with (i.e. a shoulder bag, bucket hat, glasses, etc.)

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I aim to write songs that people can relate to but also vibe out and dance too. Even if it’s an emotionally sad song, I still want you to be able to want to dance to it or give that “damn this goes hard” type face when you hear it.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I really like to draw and I’m into photography

7. Being on stage feels like….!

It’s the only thing currently that makes me the most nervous but at the same time makes me feel the most alive. I’ve never felt so much fear and excitement at the same time than when preparing to step out on that stage.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

My mom grew up singing in her church, so she definitely passed that down to me. As far as writing I would say just life and my experiences inform how I write, and like with anything the more you do it the better it gets. With guitar I was taught professionally through private lessons and still continue to take lessons to this day. I view music, especially playing an instrument as a lifelong discipline and practice.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

If I could have dinner with one artist who would it be? It’s a close call between either Rick Rubin or Pharrell.
