Perttu & Da Tree Bunny ft. Strify – „GO IN“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

I’m Strify, singer and creative mind living in Berlin. I’d say I’m bold and expressive while I do it to impress myself. In a way I’ve always lived a little bit in my own world which set me free from many traditional conventions regarding gender roles – I express myself the way I feel and not how people expect me to.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

This month I dropped a new music video for a song called GO IN I did with Perttu and Da Tree Bunny, a Finnish and American producer respectively. The last months have been a struggle for many people and the song and visuals of the video celebrate having a good time. We all are in need of distraction and good vibes more than ever. So here I come, rushing in with glam and huge disco balls and a song that will be stuck in your head. At the same time it is in a subtle way my manifesto for self-acceptance and doing my own thing. I’m wearing whatever I want, however I want it and I’m here to follow my own flow.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I started because I’ve always had an obsession with pop culture and felt like it was the only place where I could belong. I was the front singer of a visual glam pop band called Cinema Bizarre. All my solo music has been done rather independently without a label involved. I always have stage and performance fright until I start. Change is my only constant.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I’d say Vivienne Westwood. She brought punk to the fashion world, never bowed down to trends and her asymmetrical designs are timeless but still bold. She’s the coolest!

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

GO IN is a retro-infused love anthem and the message is to let go of any worries and stop overthinking. Just do what feels right and you will only find out if it’s the right thing by giving it all your all. Remember that feeling of falling for someone for the first time? The excitement of a new experience without all the baggage? Try to find that again by going all in when you fall for someone, something or are struggling with yourself. Trust the process, trust yourself, trust the community.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

One of my new lockdown hobbies were digital drawings on my tablet and I found pleasure in creating anime versions of my friends and certain people. Don’t know if it’s that special but sometimes it’s more about the fun you have and not to impress others.

Being on stage feels like….!

It’s paradox – it’s freedom and being scared at the same time.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I never properly learned anything but was always singing since I was a child. The only training I got was to take care of my body and voice – it’s like an instrument and it helps to be able to know how to warm up, to know what you are or aren’t capable of. If you don’t take care of it, your body will get tired too quickly.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

I’ve never been asked to sing an intro for an anime and yes – I would love to do that
