Read our first exclusive Interview here:)

Hot off the release of his fantastic alt-pop single In Line, Hollywood star, Aussie Nicholas Hamilton is back with his nostalgic new single that delves back into memories of his childhood, and what he has yet to give the world with Pretty Young. Accompanying this affecting track is an aptly sweet music video produced by Nicholas Hamilton himself. No stranger to the camera, Hamilton delivers a beautiful performance reflecting on past memories from the aisle of a Byron Bay movie theatre.

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hi! I’m Nicholas Hamilton but everyone calls me Nic. I’m a small man who sings.

Please give us an update about – new single and video for PRETTY YOUNG and new EP of the same name!

Everything’s happening! My new single Pretty Young is out right now, it’s about being nostalgic for a time that was so recent, it feels silly to miss it already. I was able to direct my first ever music video for it, which makes the song even more special than it already is to me. Pretty Young is the last single off my upcoming EP of the same name, out August 13th, which I’m very excited about. It’s a diary of my life so far, and my life to come.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My songs truly are little, intimate descriptions of my thoughts and experiences. I like to be pretty personal in my music, because that’s something I don’t get to do so much when I’m acting. I get to write in as much detail as possible because it’s my life, my story. In that same vein, there’s not an overall defining message to my music. They’re all about different relationships and different experiences and the different lessons I’ve learned from them.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I guess I was fairly self-taught? I’ve been singing very poorly since I was a baby, and my vocal chords just got sick of annoying people eventually, I guess. Over the years I’ve tried to just improve my singing and, with that, my writing has gotten better and better since I started. I’ve lived my life through experience, it’s actually quite rare that I’ve learnt something through lessons. I acted my way through my teens and consistently got better the more work I got, and the same applies to my music.
