Mads Langer – „Hanging With You“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Curious and searching soul looking for the meaning of life in my music an in the people I meet on my path through life

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My new single hanging with you came out a couple of weeks ago and I’m super thrilled that people have received it with open arms all over the world. I have almost finished my new album that comes out later this year and if everything opens up I’m planning on Touring all over Europe including Germany early 2022. I can’t wait for people to listen to my album ‚cause I’ve really had the time to dive into the light and the dark corners of my soul in the most strange time I have probably lived through in my life so far.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I’m a no bullshit type of person who embraces everyone who strives to make the world a better place

I’m a jazz trained piano player and when I was a little boy the love of my life was Mariah Carey. I remember that I was able to sing almost every song on her album music box when I was 8 years old, so she’s probably a big reason why I have learned to sing the way I sing.

Mental health is something that I wanna use my voice to put focus on. Anxiety has been part of my life as long as I remember and I know I’m not alone with that challenge. I try to write about it in my songs and hopefully other people with the same issues will feel recognized in my music.

Diversity and equality means a lot to me. I have many friends and family in the lgbtq community and I admire and support their right to be able to love freely. I’ve seen how living their truth can be extremely and heartbreakingly difficult. I’m full of love and admiration for all of you who stay true to who you are and insist on loving the people you love.

My career started on social media and I’m super grateful for the people supporting me and spreading my music there. However I also find it really hard to live up to the expectations that I guess everybody feels having a life on social media. So I’m struggling as a person and as an artist to find the balance where my followers feel connected to me but where I also feel connected to myself. That balance is not always easy to find.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

My favorite brand is probably Saint Laurent. I love the combination of old school rock’n roll and modern elegance. My music is probably a mix of Gucci flowery fashion and the coolness of Saint Laurent.

5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?

I have so many bad habits that I can’t count them. My favorite bad habits is probably my obsession with shoes. I have more shoes than my wife and I’m totally the girl in the relationship when it comes to that.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

If I didn’t have music I don’t know what I’d do. I really don’t fit into the normal view of how you’re supposed to live your life, so I’m just super grateful that I get to live a life as a musician. I think my biggest talent apart from music is probably my great sense of humor 😉

7. Being on stage feels like….!

Like I imagine a fish would feel like swimming in the water. I truly feel like being on stage connecting with my audience is where I’m supposed to be in this life. I lose the sense of time and I forget about my worries. People talk about the importance of being present in the now – when I’m on stage I feel like I couldn’t be more present in any way.

8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?

Jackets jackets jackets. I have too many jackets in my wardrobe and every time I see a new jacket that I like I always tell myself that it would be perfect on stage, so I probably have what you would describe as a disturbing number of front singer jackets. I said it earlier, Saint Laurent is my favorite brand and I have too many of their jackets. My favorite fragrance is from aesop and I really don’t feel like there are any no go’s in a wardrobe. there will always be a perfect location for any kind of item. It’s just a matter of where and when.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

How come you never did duet with Adele?

Well, she simply hasn’t asked me yet and it leaves me wondering what I’ve done wrong. Maybe she just doesn’t know if I’d be up for it. Anyway, I would definitely consider it if she asked
