My name is Kyrik Gaines. I’m a singer/songwriter and producer from Miami, FL.
Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
My new single ‘Don’t Fall in Love’ was just released along with a music video that I directed and produced. My first EP ‘Somersault’ drops this Friday and I couldn’t be more excited!
Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I write, produce, and engineer all of my songs.
I play the guitar, piano, and alto saxophone.
I have my own independent label, OOO Music (On Our Own)
I write the treatment for my music videos
I like to work on my music alone
What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I think preppy mixed with streetwear would best describe my music.
Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
I like to write from my own personal experiences. Whether I’m talking about unrequited love or depression, I want people to feel like they’re not alone when they listen to my music.
Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Yes, I’m actually a dancer/choreographer. Mainly hip-hop, but I’ve dabbled in contemporary. I also love to paint.
Being on stage feels like….!
Being on stage feels like a dream. It’s weird because I’m normally very quiet and reserved, but when I’m on stage it’s like another side of me awakens. I’m no longer shy or nervous. When I’m on stage I’m a star.
How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
Growing up I would always sing but never took it seriously until I was in high school. As far as the instruments I play, I taught myself how to play the guitar, piano, and started playing the alto saxophone when I joined the band in 6th grade. Shout out to Guitar Hero, the game that really motivated me to learn guitar and become an artist.
