New York-based singer/actress Kat Cunning has unveiled her brand new single ‘Birds’. The follow up to critically-acclaimed ‘Stay on the Line’, Kat’s latest serving is a beautifully emotive track produced by Martin Terefe (James Blunt, Coldplay, Shawn Mendes).
Crossing the worlds of music, theatre and television, Kat is a polymath. She made her television debut on HBO’s ‘The Deuce’ starring opposite James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal and will be co-starring in ‘KIWI’ Smiths new NETFLIX show ‘Trinkets’ out this summer. She has also appeared in Broadway shows ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ and ‘Sleep No More.’
An advocate for LGBTQ rights, Kat’s queerness inspires her artistry. Her previous singles ‘Baby,’ Wild Poppies’ and ‘Stay on the Line’ were noted for their proud display of body positivity and queer identity.
Kat Cunning is noted for her ethereal voice and unique sonic identity, an infusion of pop, indie and baroque sounds. Since starting her music career, her tracks have been streamed hundreds of thousands of times to date. She’s been tipped a ‘New Name to Watch’ by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, and has been featured in Nylon, Teen Vogue, Refinery 29, The New York Times, Wonderland, Billboard, People Magazine and more.
Last year, after a sold out N. American tour opening for ‘LP’, KAT made her mark on The Great Escape, and Firefly Music Festival.
Equipped with poignant lyrics and a striking vocal, Kat’s new single marks a new chapter in the rising starlet’s career. With plenty of new material coming from the singer this year, ‘Birds’ is a stellar addition to her burgeoning repertoire.
