- Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Hey! I’m Julian Daniel. I’m a 21 year old, indie artist from Toronto. I’ve been making music since I was 15. I also dabble in drawing characters and doing some graphic design!
- Please give us an update about – new single, new album, new videos?
I just released my new single ‘Anxiety’ on May 21st, 202. I worked with Evan Saccombe to create a visual for the song, which is on my YouTube. I’ve been working with Evan on my music videos for a while now and I love the creative ideas he always has! I have a couple more songs coming out this year as well and I’m very excited about those!
- Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?
Some things about me as an artist are.
1- I like to write music that’s relatable.
2- I tend to mix pop and rock elements in my songs.
3- I love early 2000’s music.
4- I have an obsession with my Chihuahua zoey.
5- I love creating a visuals
- What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I’m in love with vintage clothing. Thrifting and finding the hidden gems makes me so happy. I think it would be a mix of 90s with an early 2000s, somewhere between a skater/hippie style. I love patterns and making them flow together. I also love big baggy jeans.
- Do you have any bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?
My guilty pleasure would have to be a camel menthol cigarette at the beach on a hot summer day. I know it’s bad for me but everything in moderation. Another guilty pleasure would have to be dancing around in my room and pretending I’m performing in front of an arena. Fingers crossed one day!
- Besides music, do you have any special talents?
I love drawing. I started drawing these weird characters during quarantine and can’t seem to stop. Sometimes I animate them into little gifs and post them on my Instagram. Because of this, I want to get into stick and poke tattooing. I have been working on new designs everyday. It’s another outlet for my art and my creative mind.
- Being on stage feels like….?
It’s the best feeling In the world. It’s like an addiction to me. It’s a feeling that I can’t describe. When I’m on stage I completely black out and I feel the music move through my body. When I’m on stage I’m not in control of my body. I feel the melodies in my bones and I just move to the music.
- A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before + your response.
Question: What’s a celebrity dead or alive that you would love to collaborate with?
Answer: my dream collaboration would be David Bowie. I think that we could create a really cool song and the visual to go along with it would be breathtaking. I think he has such an amazing mind and everything he does turns to magic. Also his fashion style is beyond words. I would just love to go shopping with him .
- Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?
A must have in my wardrobe would have to be a good baggy jean and a pair of crocs or converse. I only wear crocs in sport mode, if you know you know, if you don’t…. Sportmode. A no-go in my wardrobe would be skinny jeans. They just feel way to constrincing and they make me look like my legs are 95% of my body. My favorite fashion brand would have to be Levi’s. And my favorite fragrance is le labo Rose 31. Its a unisex frangrance and I think it smells so fresh and natural.
