1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Hi, my name is Dan, and I go by CimplyDan. I’m a Florida-based Persian-American rapper and pop artist.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
Other than my new single, „South Side Livin‘,“ that drops July 2nd, I’ll be releasing new music pretty regularly. I have more than enough records to drop a few albums, but as an independent artist, I feel as if dropping singles is more powerful than dropping full projects; however, nothing is set in stone. I could decide tomorrow that I prefer to drop the album and just do that. As for tour dates and music videos, with Covid restrictions being lifted slowly, tour dates are being discussed and music videos are being worked on. The best way to keep up with all of that is by following me on social media. You can find me everywhere @CimplyDan, but Instagram is my preferred social network right now.
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I speak my mind, which doesn’t mean „my way or the highway,“ but I’m not one to hold back. If something is bad in my mind, then it’s bad. If something’s good, then it’s good. That’s just my opinion at the end of the day.
Not all my lyrics are about me. A lot of friends and random people love to tell me their problems and stories. I guess I’m easy to talk to. Anyways, I sometimes create/write music from the perspective of that individual or at least my interpretation of it.
I take pride in my culture/heritage. I’m 100% as Persian as it gets other than being born in Miami, Florida. I’m an active person.
Fitness and health play a major role in my day-to-day life.
I’m an adrenaline junkie! Anything that gets my heart racing puts the biggest smile on my face.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
If I had to put it in a category, I would have to say a Miami-style. I’ve been told that quite a few times now and it makes sense.
5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?
None that I’m aware of. I do have a terrible sweet tooth, but my love for fitness keeps me in check.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Before I decided to be an artist, I always wanted to do voice acting, so I do have a few impressions. I’m able to replicate sounds after hearing them a few times, for the most part at least.
7. Being on stage feels like….!
Amazing! Honestly, there’s no feeling close to it and, to be honest, I don’t really know how to explain that feeling. Unfortunately, fortunately, I became an artist about a year ago during the pandemic, so I haven’t gotten to do many shows. My first show was in Las Vegas which was an awesome experience. The more shows I do, the better I feel like I could answer that question.
8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?
A variety of shoes is a must-have. Can’t think of any No-Gos. Favorite Fashion brand would be Louis Vuitton or Versace, followed by Gucci. Fragrance would be Versace Eros, hands down.
