Teams need leaders to perform effectively. Leaders boost the morale of their team members and give them the guidance they need to succeed. If one becomes part of a sports team, he or she can take on a leadership role. For instance, in football, the quarterback usually assumes the role of the leader and helps his or her teammates devise solid game strategies, improve their skills, and fulfill their objectives. It is worth mentioning that some sports teams have formal leaders while others have informal ones.
