An intercontinental, intergalactic collaboration between Australian Wax Motif and Canadian Hunter Siegel is out now on Tiësto’s label Musical Freedom.
With Wax Motif’s influences spanning far and wide from G sound to disco, R&B to UK Bass, and Hunter Siegel’s expert house and dance background, this was always destined to be a groundbreaking track. Wassup has an undeniable layer of funk coming through the mix and a heavy drop so fearless and furious, it’s a weapon ready to slay the clubs.
Since signing tracks to huge labels, Wax Motif has become a mainstay of the ruling DJs’ tracklists. So much so, he’s remixed for the A listers including Major Lazer, Deadmau5, YG and Chromeo, and counts the big names as fans. Meanwhile, Hunter Siegel is heading in a similar direction too, with his collaborative track OTR (On The Floor) with Autoerotique earning spins from Skrillex and Hardwell and having played at respected stages at HARD SUMMER MUSIC FEST, Electric Zoo Music (New York), and Splash House. With two innovative artists such as these, and backing from the iconic Tiësto too, Wassup is set to be one of those tracks that shapes the sounds to come.
