Soulland and Nike SB are happy to announce FRI.day – a collaborative project for skateboard professional Eric Koston. The project is inspired by the Copenhagen youth and skate culture and will be presented on Friday, August 12th at Revolver.
As part of the global launch of the FRI.day project, Soulland decided to combine a presentation with a unique opportunity to ask the involved collaborators about the thoughts behind the collaboration in a panel debate. The event is part of Copenhagen Fashion Week and ties in with the skateboard contest CPH Open.
“I wanted to do something that was about sharing knowledge and talking about the creative ideas that lead both me and the culture. To sit down with Eric Koston and Nike SB for a talk is not just a personal childhood dream, but also a great way for people to really understand what we do. Additionally, it’s been too long since Soulland clothes were shown on models during Copenhagen Fashion Week. I will not go as far as saying we are doing a show but…” – Silas Adler, Creative Director of Soulland
The collaboration, a capsule collection, consists of seven pieces of apparel, as well as two versions of the Eric Koston pro model shoe for Nike SB; the Nike SB Koston 1, and the Nike SB Koston 3 Hyperfeel.
“I was honored and excited to be able to work together with Silas and Soulland on this collection. I’m a fan of Copenhagen as well as Silas’ design aesthetic. Throw in the fact that he’s a skateboarder and it’s a perfect fit! I feel like his meticulous attention to detail and sense of humor really shine through in this collaboration.” – Eric Koston
