For Spring/Summer 2018, Saucony Originals re-release the classic DXN, names after the legendary runner Rod Dixon. After his 1983 New York City marathon win, Dixon was brought into the Saucony fold to design a shoe in his honour. As one of the few runners ever to have run both a sub 3:52 mile and sub 2:09 marathon, his athletic prowess is well publicised. What’s less well known is Dixon’s keen eye for design. His involvement in the design process of the DXN was paramount to the silhouette’s success, with his obsession over it’s functional details being regularly put to the test as he ran hundred of miles in various iterations of the shoe.
