UK Alt-R&B phenom, Sub Blue, releases his highly anticipated debut EP ‘Suburban View’ featuring stand-

out tracks ‘Teen No More’ and ‘Take A Picture’.

Taking his name from his self-described style of music, “suburban blues”, Sub Blue offers a fresh take on chilled out, alternative introspective R&B. With previously released singles being supported heavily by Spotify, Apple Music, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Complex, Notion and more, ‘Suburban View’ exemplifies why Sub Blue is such a hotly tipped new artist.

‘Suburban View’ is an exploration of the duality of suburban life and coming of age stories. Musically, it mixes traditional R&B with alternative vibes and sounds, with production coming from the likes of Sir Dylan (The Weekend / Solange / Logic / Miguel) and A.V (Frank Ocean) as well as emerging UK producer- artists XamVolo and TeeSoulFul. Lyrically, it is on one hand direct, and on the other open to interpretation, with Sub Blue both complicit and critical of his and his peers lifestyle and the social status quo.

“There is an assumption that kids in the suburbs have it easy…but this is far from the truth”, explains Sub Blue. “Suburban life brings its own challenges, from ‘absent’ parents and lack of guidance to the suffocation of monotony and, perhaps most damaging, the peer and societal pressure that comes with that upbringing. This is a story not often told but its one I wanted to tell”
