1 Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Thanks for having me. First of all my name is Ovie. I’m a singer songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. I’ve also been directing music videos internationally for the last few years.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
‘One More Time‘ is the new single that I just released and I’m already hard at work finishing up my debut EP. As for tour dates it’s hard to predict with covid and everything. New music videos hahaha, there are going to be a bunch of music videos, believe that.
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
One, I am a perfectionist. Two, I am obsessed with 90s R&B harmonies. Three, I am more comfortable recording in my bedroom by myself, rather than a recording studio. Four, I micro manage every aspect of my music career. Last but not least, I imagine the music video when I’m writing the lyrics and sometimes alter my choice of words to fit the visuals in my head.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Hmm good question, I like to think my music is fluid enough to pull off different styles at different times so you should never be able to accurately anticipate exactly what I’m going to be wearing at any given time. However, most things I own are either Dolce, Zara or Versace.
5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?
Omg I love being in bed, it’s the best. I pretty much do as much as I can without getting out of bed. I write and record my music in bed, I write the treatments and coordinate all the planning for my music videos in bed. I do all the post production in bed. I am literally answering your question right now in bed. I love my bed. Even my last single was about going to bed if you really think about it. Lol
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Yeah, I already mentioned but I am a director, that’s my other passion. I love filming stuff, like if I see any good looking stuff I film it. My phone is basically stuff I find aesthetically pleasing.
7. Being on stage feels like….!
Being on stage feels like there’s a thin like between excitement and anxiety. It’s like one minute you feel sick and then next minute you’re on top of the world. Can’t wait for covid to go away so we can get back to that.
8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?
Must have: black leather jackets. This is a thing that has stuck with me for as long as I can remember.
No go: v-necks. I used to love them but now I can’t stand them, they are just the worst.
Favourite fashion brand: Dolce.
Favourite fragrance: Le Beau by Jean Paul Gaultier has been my go to for the last two years.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls.
No one ever asks me „Can you do any impressions?“, I do a great King Julian and it’s very important to me that you know this.
