Jordan Dean Shares New Single ‚Local‘ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hi this is Jordan Dean, I’m a singer-songwriter from Cleveland, USA and I write songs about my life and the people around me.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My new single ‚Local‘ is out now with a second single ‚Rabbit Hole‘ released on 25th February and the rest of the ‚Local – EP‘ releasing on 12 March. Really focused on getting people to listen to these tracks since touring is not really an option at the moment with COVID.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I want to bring back a little bit rougher of a sound back to pop music. Recently everything is perfect (perfectly in time, perfectly in tune, etc) which isn’t a bad thing but some of my favourite recordings are not as polished and a little more vulnerable. I’d like to make recordings like that.

I started making music when I was 15 and really decided it was what I wanted to do when I was 17 and every day since then I’ve been working to make it possible

Some of my biggest influences are Jamie T, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, and The Kooks

My main goal as an artist is to be able to continue making art for as long as I can.

With my song-writing being so personal, It is really wonderful to see other people connecting with my songs and relating to them. That’s something I never thought would happen.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

That’s a tough question because I feel like I’m such a mixture of everything that I don’t really fit well into any one category, I would like to say maybe Vans haha but I don’t think all the way. Probably 60% Vans, 20% Ralph Lauren, and 20% Adidas.

Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?

I’m a big overthinker. When it comes to anything I’m always second guessing myself and that’s a hard thing to overcome when you’re making music. But I’ve lately been trying to go with my gut and stay with it.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I’ve gotten into cooking recently, I wouldn’t call it a talent but I’m decently good at following directions. I find it pretty relaxing especially because I get a little stressed from music and that, so it’s good to get my mind off of it and focus on something else.

Being on stage feels like….!

Nothing else. . . it’s simply a different kind of high that can’t be compared to any other feeling. Although maybe it feels like skydiving, I guess I haven’t done that. So I’d say nothing comparable to anything I’ve done. Just the rush of putting yourself out there like that is exhilarating but when you can really get loose and connect with the crowd it brings it to a whole other level.

Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?

A must have is definitely a good pair of jeans. My go to always, can’t beat the comfort and versatility of a good pair of jeans. – a no-go has got to be sleeveless shirts. I’ve seen a lot of guys wearing them recently. I don’t know why. It’s a very hard look to pull off and just not worth it. At that point just go no shirt, who are you trying to impress? My favourite fragrance is made by this company CREMO. It’s called Bourbon and Oak and it makes me feel a lot more masculine than I am when I put it on haha

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?!

Favourite film of all time? – Rear Window (1954). I’ve always been a massive Alfred Hitchcock fan and this is one of his best films in my opinion.
