The new JEAN//PHILLIP SS//18 collection entitled DE(SIR)E explores the unlikely meet cut between the strict army man and formal and traditional tailoring. But even the tailored pieces have a bit of a soldier in them – we all have DE(SIR)Es. In the new collection the theme is explored by the juxtaposition of mixed materials and a differentiated color palate. Longevity is represented through the use of long lasting materials such as wool, leather and cotton mixed with porous textiles like silk and linen. The materials are combined in both oversized and fitted silhouettes, where light hues of Electric Blue is used as highlights among the otherwise solid colours of white, black and one grey mélange piece. The reoccurring and season-less black, which solely stands as a manifestation of the Jean//Phillip vision.
