Name: Jace Barton
Hometown: Springfield, Missouri
Agency: Taylor Kelsaw Management
1. How did you get into modeling?
At first I just had friends take pictures of me to post on my Instagram, typical thing most people do today. Eventually people started calling me a “model” and I was asked by a friend if I would like to do a local fashion show, to which I said “yes”. It went downhill from there. I started doing more local shows, photoshoots, and submitting myself to agencies.
2. What are you doing if you are not modeling?
Going to school; my major will most likely be in linguistics and translating languages.
If I’m not in school or modeling I’m probably buying records and listening to Fleetwood Mac
3. Whats your most embarrassing moment?
When I was told by an agency that they weren’t interested in me. It kind of hurt my feelings, but I realized that this is an industry that has high standards of what they want their models to look like. It was a good eye opener and taught me that not everyone is going to be nice when it comes to modeling.
4. What do you love on Social Media? – What do you hate on Social Media?
What I love about social media is the way that it gives people a network to socialize and to interact with people who they may never meet in their lifetime. I think that it’s something that people from years ago would never have guessed would be possible.
What I hate about social media is the addiction to it. At first I didn’t think I was addicted to it, and I also didn’t think I compared myself to other models or celebrities, but I do catch myself doing it a lot now, which is not good.
5. Describe your personal style?!
I don’t think I have a certain style. I think that I’m the kind of person who will dress a certain way one day, and completely switch it around the for another day. If I had to describe a personal style I enjoy the most, I’d say an indie-folk style; boots, nice coats, and some torn up jeans.
6. Favorite part of your body?!
My favorite part of my is probably my “lucky-fin” as my sister would say, but the actual body part is my left ear. My left ear is higher than my right ear, and while it isn’t very noticeable from afar, it seems to be noticeable to my friends when we are sitting down for dinner.
So for that very reason that it is different and kind of an inside joke, I think that is my favorite part of my body.
7. Where are your roots?
My family is of Dutch/Indonesian descent. My great grandparents and their children (my Oma, and her siblings) immigrated here in the 60’s after leaving the Netherlands to better the lives of our family. During their transition to the American way of life, they were constantly judged for their darker complexion and odd way of speaking. None of them knew very good English and had to work very hard to adjust to a new language and way of life. Both of my great grandparents have passed away by this point and I never got the chance to actually understand and thank them for what they did to save our family.
I know that someday I’ll see them again and get to thank them for their sacrifice, until then, dankjewel Oma en Opa.
8. Name one celebrity you’d like to get naughty with!
I don’t want to get naughty with anyone until marriage, but I have always had a huge crush on Bella Hadid.
9. Do you have any special Talents?
Not really anything special other than I can paint and draw. One thing I’ve always done since I was a kid was art, specifically painting and drawing.
10. What is the most interesting thing online at the moment?
I’m always a sucker for food recipes videos, I watch and share those religiously as if I’m actually going to make them, which I don’t.
