Asher Knight – „Without Us“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey, I’m Asher Knight and I’m a singer, songwriter from the UK.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, new videos?

I have just released my single “Without Us” which is all about needing someone or fully accepting apart of ourselves that we can’t live without. I was able to film a new music video with the single, which was one of my favourite videos to shoot as it was physically challenging to film and truly reflects on the meaning of the song.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?

Well I think the first thing to know is that all my songs are about things we can all relate too.

My performances are up lifting, my whole goal while performing is to make sure the audience is having the best time possible.

I also dance, it’s something I have done since young and being able to bring it into my shows is amazing for me.

A main part of me is being able to go into schools to talking about Mental Health, bullying and how we can come together.

The last thing I recon is I am pretty much an open book, I put all my feelings and what I’m going through in my songs.

What can we expect 2020 from you?

Well a lot more music is to come out during this year. It’s a tough year so far but hopefully the back end of the year I might be able to tour again which would be amazing.

I am really focusing on writing new material that truly reflects me and where I want to go musically.

Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you cant seem to quit?

I love to drink fizzy drinks, it’s my biggest weakness !! I think I drink it for caffeine as I’m not a fan of coffee, so a fizzy drink helps wake me up.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Talent wise not really, I use to be a very good scuba diver at a young age I had finished all the qualifications I could possibly do but by the time I was 18 I had stopped due to focusing purely on my music. I have interests outside of music that I focus on when I can like business, reading and making sure I’m healthy by going to the gym.

Being on stage feels like….

Being at home. It most probably sounds odd me saying it feels like being at home but when I am unable to perform on stage I feel a bit of me is missing, but when I get on that stage I feel complete again. I had a show a couple of month ago and it was first show in 3 months or so, I was very nervous but when I walked on stage I said to myself I am back home. I felt calm and enjoyed every second of it.

Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?

Must have for me is a white t-shirt and black jeans, it somewhat of a uniform I have I guess. No-Go would be these super skinny jeans, I don’t know why I have them.

I think my favourite fashion brands would be All Saints, Topman, Adidas and Paige and Zara. I keep my clothing rather simple, and to some degree like a uniform, I usually have to force myself to try something new every once in a while. Fragrances are the hardest things for me to find !! I am so picky, but my main fragrance is Chaubre Noire, I found it at the Ronaldo shop in Portugal and stuck by it as my main fragrance.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

This is hard but I guess what languages would I like to learn? It would be as many as possible, I always download apps on my phone to learn languages but can never pick one and stick by it. I have friends from around the world and would love to speak to them in their language.
